Gajraj Rao DEFENDS Rakesh Roshan's decision to cast Hrithik Roshan in Krrish, amid trolling: 'I believe it is a ridiculous...'

Rakesh Roshan cast his son Hrithik Roshan as the lead in his 2006 superhero film Krrish and its sequel Krrish 3. While Hrithik’s performance was praised, some fans wished for a different casting choice. Recently, actor Gajraj Rao shared his views on this topic.
In conversation with Filmygyan, Gajraj supported Rakesh Roshan’s decision to cast Hrithik as Krrish, emphasising that it was his project, investment, and creative vision. He dismissed criticism as unfounded, stating that Hrithik was the right choice for the role and that the filmmaker’s hard work and dedication should be acknowledged.

He further added that filmmaking is not a charitable act, and directors are not obligated to cast anyone. He explained that working with familiar actors fosters a strong bond, improving communication and execution on set. He highlighted that repeated collaborations help streamline the creative process and enhance performances.

The Krrish franchise remains a fan favorite with immense popularity. Hrithik Roshan has portrayed the lead role in the first three films and is set to return as the superhero in the highly anticipated fourth installment.
Hrithik Roshan is currently filming War 2 with Kiara Advani, set to wrap by April 2025. Following this, he is expected to begin shooting Krrish 4, which will be filmed in Mumbai and select locations in Europe.
