Patients visiting the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital will now benefit from streamlined services.
The Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, also known as RML Hospital, in New Delhi introduced several significant improvements aimed at enhancing patient care and operational efficiency. Patients visiting the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital will now benefit from streamlined services, including immediate OPD registration and free medicines. These advancements come as a relief to patients who previously endured long queues for registration.
The new facilities include:
- A spacious OPD registration hall with 23 counters
- Expanded pharmacy services with 10 counters for free medicines
- Three air-conditioned waiting areas for patients and attendants
- A dedicated reading room accommodating 106 UG and PG students
- Office space at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences with a capacity for 42 individuals
The inauguration ceremony was led by Apurva Chandra, Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, alongside RML Director and MS Dr Ajay Shukla. Dr Shukla highlighted the impact of these enhancements, noting the increase in OPD counters from 10 to 23 to accommodate the rising number of daily patients, now reaching up to 8,000. This expansion aims to minimise queues and expedite registration processes.
Dr Shukla also addressed the improvement in pharmacy services, expanding from 5 to 10 counters to alleviate congestion and waiting times. Moreover, the addition of air-conditioned waiting areas aims to enhance comfort for patients and their relatives.
For medical students, the provision of dedicated study rooms underscores RML Hospital’s commitment to supporting educational needs alongside medical care enhancements. Dr Shukla emphasised ongoing efforts to further improve facilities, ensuring RML Hospital remains a leading healthcare provider.
The ceremony was attended by notable figures including Dean Prof. Aarti Maria, Additional MS Prof. Manoj Kumar Jha, Dr Neera Sharma, BK Kundu, and Dr RK Modi, underscoring collective efforts towards advancing healthcare services at RML Hospital.
