Wedding bells are around the corner and we’re just as excited as any of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal’s fans. According to reports, the couple is going to tie the proverbial knot on June 23 with wedding festivities slated to begin a day earlier. Filmfare has learned from sources close to the couple that Sonakshi and Zaheer have decided to keep things low-key for their functions. Accordingly, the couple will have a function similar to the quintessential reception on June 23 at Bastian. Sources have revealed that there won’t be any ‘shor sharaba’ during this intimate function. It’s just going to be a small celebration for close friends and family.

For the longest time, media reports had speculated that Sonakshi’s close relatives may not have been happy with her decision to marry Zaheer. But our source has confirmed that all such rumours are baseless and that Sonakshi has the blessings of her parents for her big day. Zaheer’s family too is excited to welcome Sonakshi into the family and bless the couple on their wedding day.

Zaheer Iqbal comes from a family of entrepreneurs. His father Iqbal Ratansi is invested in the jewellery and real estate business, while Zaheer’s sister Sanam Ratansi is a celebrity stylist. Zaheer’s father is known to be a close friend of Salman Khan and it’s no secret that both Sonakshi and Zaheer were launched as actors by Salman’s production house. 

Other details of Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding have been speculated about. Reports have mentioned that their wedding day theme will be ‘Festive and Formal’, while some media outlets have mentioned that the guests have been asked not to wear red outfits to the wedding. A leading news website had also revealed that Sonakshi-Zaheer’s wedding invitation was designed like a magazine, acknowledging that rumours of their relationship were indeed true.
