Emraan Hashmi opens up about feeling envious of other actors in Bollywood: 'There’s always a battle in my head'

Emraan Hashmi, known for his candid nature, recently admitted to feeling envious of his contemporaries in the film industry. In an interview with News18, the actor shared that jealousy is an emotion he experiences frequently, and it’s something that exists across all industries.
Emraan revealed that adding that envy engulfs him all the time. He explained that it’s natural to feel this way, especially in a competitive industry like Bollywood. According to him, self-comparison is an ongoing battle, and actors often find themselves wondering if they could have done a better job in a role given to someone else.
The actor, who has had a career spanning over two decades, admitted that there have been instances where he believed he deserved a particular role but saw another actor playing it instead. He expressed that sometimes, in hindsight, he felt he could have performed better than the person who eventually landed the part. “There’s always a battle in my head that a certain actor might have gotten a role I might have deserved. I know that I could have done a better job at it because it’s a s** job that he did,” he admitted.
Beyond his thoughts on missed opportunities, Emraan also opened up about one of his past regrets, a film that he wished he had never been a part of. While he refrained from naming the project, he revealed that it was initially backed by a strong script and talented creative minds. However, the final product turned out to be far from what he had expected. He said that it was a film made with the best intentions. It had a great script but turned out to be a ‘god-awful film’. He further said that he couldn’t even see it because the trailer itself was what he defined as ‘Cringe’. “It definitely wasn’t something I had signed up for,” Emraan confessed.
Meanwhile Emraan was last seen in ‘Tiger 3‘.
