The hot weather we’ve been longing for in the UK is finally here – and we’re looking to Emily Ratajkowski for some heatwave outfit inspo. The model and actor knows the shorter the shorts, the less likely you are to spontaneously pass out on the footpath from the heat.
On July 16 the model and actor was spotted walking her dog in New York City (as she does) in the teeniest microshorts this side of lingerie. She wore the light, sky-blue hot pants rolled at the waist to make them extra low-rise, and paired them with a cropped white top under a whisper-thin blue button-down shirt, rolled at the wrists. She also made the bold choice to wear her sneakers without socks, Gen Z crew socks be damned.
Keeping the heat at bay was clearly the priority with this ensemble, but that doesn’t mean EmRata skimped on accessories. She added a few layers of chunky necklaces and some oversized sunglasses to ward off the sun.
Hot pants haven’t had a real moment in a minute, but certain celebrities are doing their part to bring the microshorts trend back. Hailey Bieber, for one, has busted out a pair of teeny-tiny shorts on multiple occasions, usually paired with some kind of oversized top or jacket. Sydney Sweeney has worn multiple versions of Miu Miu hot pants. Chrissy Teigen and Beyoncé have also demonstrated chic, updated ways to wear hot pants that are not straight from 2010.
And now we have Emily Ratajkowski proving that hot pants can be both stylish and functional in 30-degree weather.
