The Brazilian National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) has successfully concluded a financing agreement for the export of 32 Embraer E175 commercial jets to American Airlines. The transaction, valued at approximately R$4.5 billion, was facilitated through BNDES Exim Post-shipment, a direct credit line from the Bank aimed at promoting the export of national goods.
The announcement was made today during a ceremony at Embraer’s headquarters in São José dos Campos, São Paulo. The event was attended by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Vice-President Geraldo Alckmin, Minister of Ports and Airports Silvio Costa Filho, and BNDES President Aloizio Mercadante, among other distinguished guests.
BNDES’s support is crucial for the Brazilian aeronautical sector, a strategic industry known for its advanced technology, creation of highly skilled jobs, and development of innovations that benefit society.
