'We need to X him': TikToker under investigation after alleged assassination threat against Elon Musk

A New York-based TikToker who appeared to call for the assassination of Elon Musk is now under investigation by US attorney and US President Donald Trump ally Ed Martin, reports New York Post.
Sarah C. Roberts, a self-described executive producer, posted a video to her 4,000 TikTok followers in which she made a throat-slitting gesture while mentioning Musk’s name.
“We need to X him,” she said, referring to the Tesla and X owner. “And by X, I mean formally known as assassination.”
Roberts then mocked law enforcement, claiming she had not filed taxes for eight years and had not faced consequences.
“Arrest me. You don’t have enough people to even investigate me at this point,” she said in the since-deleted video. “So I’m going to fing say it. Let’s assassinate some motherf***.”
The clip went viral on social media and was shared by thousands. Musk himself took notice, tagging Martin, the US attorney for Washington, DC, to ensure authorities were aware.
“Death threat and admission of multiple counts of tax fraud,” Musk wrote. “Uh oh… now she’s in trouble. Don’t you love when they admit their crimes on video for the world to see?”
Martin responded swiftly, confirming that an investigation was underway.
“Duly noted. Thx for letting us know. We’ll put you in the system. Talk soon, Ma’am,” he wrote, adding the hashtag #NoOneIsAboveTheLaw.
Following the backlash, Roberts deleted her TikTok account and made her Instagram private.
“Why do people get on TikTok and just self-snitch? I don’t understand this need to out yourself,” one person wrote on X.
“I hope that the FBI takes this woman very seriously – such threats have to be investigated immediately,” another user commented.
Musk, who attended President Trump’s first cabinet meeting this week despite not holding an official position, has previously stated that he receives multiple death threats. Martin, meanwhile, has launched a crackdown on threats against public figures, including Musk and his DOGE staffers.
“We must protect our cops, our prosecutors, our DOGE workers, the President, and all other government employees from threats against our nation,” Martin wrote in an email to staff obtained by Rolling Stone. He said his initiative, ‘Operation Whirlwind,’ aims to curb the increasing number of threats against officials.
Last week, Martin also confirmed an investigation into Democratic Congressman Robert Garcia over comments he made about Musk in an interview.
