Anakapalli SP Tuhin Sinha said that two of the raidedcall centres were earning about Rs 5 crore per month. “Their modus operandi primarily targeted US citizens. The youths would lure them with lucrative offers and schemes, gaining their trust before persuading them to transfer money. They had a tutorial book-like script. Based on that, the employees prolonged the conversation and convinced victims to part with their money,” the SP said. Each day, around 200 to 300 phone calls were made to people in various parts of the world in an effort to trap them.
