As per film business tracker Sacnilk, following an impressive opening day where it earned Rs 6 crore, the film saw significant growth on its second day, collecting Rs 10.25 crore. This brings the total earnings to Rs 16.75 crore within just two days of its release.
‘Dragon’ has an overall occupancy rate of 64.78% in Tamil Nadu on February 22, with morning shows at 44.24%, afternoon shows at 68.19%, evening shows at 63.55%, and night shows peaking at 83.12%. The film also had a Telugu version titled ‘Return of Dragon,’ which recorded a lower occupancy of 38.64% on the same day. It had a 21.49% occupancy rate for morning shows, Afternoon Shows at 39.25%, evening shows at 37.74% and night shows at 56.07%.
The storyline follows Ragavan Dhanapal, a bright student who becomes a troublemaker after being rejected by his crush for not being rebellious enough. His life takes a turn when his college girlfriend breaks up with him due to his aimless behaviour, leading him to reevaluate his choices which is a relatable theme that has been received well with the younger audiences.
Despite facing competition from Dhanush’s directorial film ‘Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK),’ which opened on the same day but made a decent collection, ‘Dragon’ has outperformed expectations and captured the audience’s interest.

The film features a talented cast, including Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, Mysskin, and Gautham Vasudev Menon in key roles.
After its theatrical run, ‘Dragon’ is set to stream on Netflix in multiple languages.
