Further elaborating, the Bollywood actress revealed that Shreyas Iyer was Punjab Kings’ only choice for captaincy during the 2024 IPL auction.
Who’s that IPL player?
“We are very happy that he is leading Punjab Kings and happier we could get him in the auction, as he was our first and only choice for captaincy. Therefore, the whole auction revolved around him for us as a team,” Zinta wrote.
Under Iyer’s leadership, PBKS have kept themselves firmly in the playoff hunt in the ongoing IPL 2025 season. With five wins, a no result, and three defeats, Punjab sit fifth on the points table with 11 points from nine matches, just outside the top four.
