Does Aditya Roy Kapur play Wazir to Ali Fazal in Rakt Bramhand: The Bloody Kingdom?

Rakt Bramhand: The Bloody Kingdom? an ambitious fantasy series directed by Rahi Anil Barve and produced by the renowned duo Raj and DK, has generated significant buzz in the entertainment industry. The series boasts a stellar cast, including Ali Fazal, Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Jaideep Ahlawat and Wamiqa Gabbi. Ali Fazal is set to portray a powerful king navigating the challenges of a fantastical realm.
ETimes has now exclusively learnt that Aditya Roy Kapur, known for his versatility, is cast as the king’s wazir (vizier), a role that demands a blend of wisdom, strategy, and loyalty. This character is expected to be pivotal, offering counsel to the king and playing a crucial part in the unfolding narrative. Kapur’s dedication to his craft is evident; he underwent extensive training in sword fighting, horse riding, and archery for his role in the show. The show was announced in 2023 and is still in the shooting stage.
However, the production of “Rakt Bramhand” has encountered significant challenges. Reports indicate that the series faced financial mismanagement, with allegations of an executive producer misappropriating funds amounting to approximately Rs 2–3 crore. This financial discrepancy was uncovered during a routine audit, prompting Netflix and D2R Films to initiate a thorough investigation into both internal operations and external vendor transactions.
In addition to financial hurdles, the series has grappled with creative issues. Director Rahi Anil Barve and writer Sita R. Menon have reportedly been revising scripts during filming, leading to concerns from Netflix about the absence of a finalized script. These challenges have contributed to delays in the production schedule.
Besides the web show, Aditya Roy Kapur also has Anurag Basu’s Metro …In Dino with Sara Ali Khan lined up. The shoot for the film got completed only in December and makers are hoping to release the film in 2025.
