NEW DELHI: A day after portfolio allocation in the Modi cabinet 3.0 took place, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Tuesday called BJP’s allies Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu “dissatisfied souls”. He claimed that the saffron party kept the important portfolios to itself.
“There are two ‘atrupta aatmas’ (dissatisfied souls) in the Centre — (Bihar Chief Minister) Nitish Kumar and (TDP chief) Chandrababu Naidu.You (BJP) should satisfy these two atrupta aatma,” Raut said.
“The way portfolios have been allocated, it seems all souls are dissatisfied, especially the NDA allies,” he added.
JD(U)’s Lalan Singh got the Ministries of Panchayati Raj, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying while TDP’s K Rammohan Naidu received the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
However, there was no change in the top four cabinet positions. Amit Shah retained the home ministry and Rajnath Singh got the defence ministry. Further, Nirmala Sitharaman and Nitin Gadkari retained their ministries — finance and transport ministry respectively.
Criticising the BJP for keeping important ministries, Raut said that H D Kumaraswamy got the “most rejected” portfolio. Kumarswamy got Heavy Industries and Steel ministries.
Pointing out that there was no Muslim minister in the cabinet, Raut said, “Modi had made it clear during the polls. They want to place a wedge between Hindus and Muslims in the country. He thinks Muslims have not voted for the BJP, which is why they are not in the cabinet.”
Taking on PM Modi, who had called Sharad Pawar “bhatakti aatma”, Raut said this “wandering restless soul” would not stop until the BJP-led administrations in Maharashtra and the Centre were overthrown.
