The film was earlier slated to hit the silver screens on October 11, a 2024 Dussehra release.

In August 2021, Dhruva Sarja’s fifth film Martin went on floors. The film is directed by AP Arjun. He gave Dhruva Sarja his debut film Addhuri in 2012. His upcoming film, Martin was supposed to be a 2022’s Dussehra release. The film has been facing constant delays in production and post-production. After two years, the film is still far from being released. As per recent updates, the film was slated to hit the silver screens on October 11, a 2024 Dussehra release. Dhruva Sarja, too, has been dropping teasers and trailers, and reminding the audience about the release date of the film. Now, it is being speculated that the release can be pushed back once again. Recently, the team announced that they would be organising a poll between July 20 and 21 regarding the promotional content, and fans will get to decide what they want – teaser or film updates.

A video clip was uploaded on the internet as a part of promotions which announced the beginning of the polling. The clip began with, “Alert: Celebrations begin with an audience poll. People of India and my VIPS can choose their preferred interest of what they want to see!” The video also mentioned the date and time of polling. The polling will begin on July 20 at 12:12 am and will end on July 21, at 11:55 pm. The results will be published on July 22. It further read, “All set and ready to celebrate the moment with audience and with my VIPS.

Reports have surfaced that the cause of the delay in the release of Martin is because of the VFX work. There have also been reports that the film’s theatrical and post-theatrical business deal was not closed. Touted to be one of India’s biggest action saga, Martin is a big-budget film. The delay means that the budget must have been overshot. It is being speculated that about Rs 100 to 200 crore might be the final figure. In an interview, a distributor revealed that the makers are looking for “outright sums” for which there’s “not even a discussion point.”

Martin is backed by Uday K Mehta. Apart from Dhruva Sarja, it also stars Vaibhavi Shandilya, Anveshi Jain, Sukrutha Wagle, Achyuth Kumar and Nitkin Dheer. The film is centred around the journey of Dhruva Sarja’s character, who travels from Pakistan to India to unravel his identity while he fights black market dealers.
