'Deva' OTT Release: When and where to watch Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hedge starrer action thriller

Shahid Kapoor’s action thriller ‘Deva’ went up for a theatrical release on January 31, 2025. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, the film is a remake of the 2013 Malayalam hit ‘Mumbai Police’. With a stellar cast that includes Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, Pravessh Rana, and Kubbra Sait, ‘Deva’ aimed to capture audience with its gripping storyline and high-energy action sequences but did not expecitionally.
Despite an average opening weekend, the film struggled at the box office, failing to recover its production costs. Although many fans would now be eagerly awaiting its digital debut.

‘Deva’ was decently praised for its intense narrative, exploring themes such as betrayal, loyalty, and moral ambiguity. Shahid plays a rebellious cop, a role that adds another layer of complexity to his repertoire following performances in films like ‘Kabir Singh’ and the web series ‘Farzi’. Pooja Hegde complements him as a journalist.

However, while many fans lauded Shahid’s performance and the film’s cinematography, some expressed disappointment with its screenplay and climax. These mixed reviews impacted its box office performance, leaving fans curious about how it would fare on streaming platforms. As per Sacnilk, Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Deva’ concluded its theatrical run with a total gross of Rs 40.78 crore in India and Rs. 15.5 crore overseas.

Where to watch ‘Deva’ online?
As per Jagran, Netflix has secured the streaming rights for ‘Deva’, making it accessible to a global audience after its theatrical run. Although an official OTT release date has not yet been announced, reports suggest that it may take approximately 60 days post-theatrical release for the film to become available online. This timeline aligns with industry trends for movies transitioning from theatres to digital platforms.
