Deepika Padukone sent the internet into a tizzy last week with her cameo in the trailer of Rohit Shetty’s upcoming film, Cirkus. The 36-year-old actor was seen shaking a leg alongside her actor-husband, Ranveer Singh, who headlines the comedy movie. It has now come to light that the collaboration isn’t just ending at a dance number. At the song launch for the aforementioned track, “Current Laga Re”, Shetty made a major revelation when he announced that Deepika will be a part of Singham’s next instalment.

At the event, Rohit Shetty was asked once again when he’d feature a woman police officer in his cop universe, Singham. The filmmaker, who has been faced with this question time and again from the press, was tired of keeping it a secret. He frustratedly spilled the beans saying he will feature a female cop in Singham Again and it will be played by none other than DP. He also went on to share that the film is set to go on the floor next year.

Deepika Padukone, who will now be the first ever female police officer to feature in Shetty’s cop universe, responded to the revelation with a tight hug. Whereas Ranveer Kapoor gleefully exclaimed, “You heard it here first!” Previously, DP and Rohit Shetty have joined forces in 2013 for Chennai Express
