In what is another stacked weekend of action from across the footballing globe, we are set for a host of eye-catching affairs throughout Saturday. So, for those of you looking to place a weekend flutter, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth taking note of.

Saturday December 10th

BST 12:30 Ipswich vs Peterborough

While Ipswich might have suffered last-gasp heartbreak at home against Fleetwood last weekend, Saturday’s hosts should be smelling a golden chance to make an immediate return to winning ways here. Although Kieran McKenna’s men might have missed out on a play-off spot last season, the former Manchester United coach has seen his squad come roaring back in some style. Holding a one-point buffer from dropping out of the top-two and tipped as one of the leading promotion contenders, the Blues have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous nine matchups across all formats. With that run stemming all the way back to October 18th, Ipswich will be looking to cash in on a Peterborough side who are in the midst of a real crisis. Last seen getting hit with a 2-1 loss at home against Barnsley, it appears there is growing pressure on Grant McCann’s shoulders. Now just about clinging to that final play-off spot, the former Hull boss has seen his downbeat squad lose each of their previous four matchups across all formats. Likewise, with just a single win to their name since the end of October, the Posh have continued to show some rather glaring issues at the back. Likewise, last seen on their travels suffering a 3-1 drumming against Shrewsbury on November 26th, we’re backing a home victory here.

Tip: Ipswich win & Over 1.5 goals @ 1/1

15:00 Sheffield United vs Huddersfield

Heading into the Championship’s enforced winter break with a deserved 1-0 victory away at Cardiff, Sheffield United have only continued to gain a string of plaudits since opening the 2022/23 campaign. Battling it out at the top of the table and tipped as a leading contender to make a Premier League return this season, Paul Heckingbottom’s men had previously taken 12 points from their last five second-tier matchups. With their recent purple patch highlighted by an action-packed 5-2 victory against Burnley on November 5th, Saturday’s hosts will be looking to lay down another marker this weekend. On the flip side, while Huddersfield might have claimed a shock play-off finish last season, the Yorkshire-based outfit are enduring a rather public Championship struggle. Although the Terriers might have been last seen on November 12th playing out a 0-0 stalemate at home against Swansea, it should be noted that Mark Fotheringham’s side have recorded just a pair of wins from any of their last eight second-tier showdowns. Likewise, along with drawing a blank in each of their previous four outings, Saturday’s guests also hold the worst defensive tally of any Championship outfit. Sat rock-bottom of the table and already five points adrift of safety, a high-flying Sheffield United are rightfully tipped as a standout pick here. Two sides battling it out at opposite ends of the table, we’re backing a home victory this weekend.

Tip: Sheffield United win to nil @ 6/4

15:00 Middlesbrough vs Luton

While some might have been shocked to see Michael Carrick appointed the new Middlesbrough boss back in October, Saturday’s hosts appear to have found their feet under the former Manchester United coach. Last seen in Championship action on November 12th as they picked up a stellar 2-1 victory away at promotion contenders Norwich, the Reds had previously taken 10 points from their final four second-tier contests. With that run of form highlighted by a 3-0 romp away at Blackpool last month, Carrick’s new squad have continued to impress many. With their sights set on trying to find a route into the top-half of the Championship table, Boro have also lost just one of their previous eight appearances across all formats. With their recent resurge stemming all the way back to October 29th, the hosts have also impressed with their clinical displays in the final third. However, with Luton watching now-former boss Nathan Jones make the move to Premier League outfit Southampton last month, Saturday’s guests are enduring a recent struggle. Last seen having to settle for a 1-1 draw at home against Rotherham, the Whites have recorded just a single win from any of their last six attempts. Slipping their way down the Championship table, they should also be worried by their most recent trip to the Riverside. Suffering a 2-1 loss when they traveled to Middlesbrough back in March, we’re expecting a similar outcome here.

Tip: Middlesbrough win & Under 4.5 goals @ 11/10
