NEW DELHI: Global sports retailer Decathlon set an ambitious target of sourcing $3 billion worth of goods from India by 2030 – a six-fold increase – driven by the country’s manufacturing capabilities, strong compliance standards, and reliable supply chain ecosystem. The expansion could position India as the third-largest global sourcing hub, competing with strong rivals including Vietnam. At present, India ranks among top four sourcing countries for the French retailer globally. It accounts for 8% of Decathlon’s global sourcing quantities, with a goal to scale this to 15% in five years.
