Darshan Performed Puja With Wife Vijayalakshmi After Renukaswamy’s Alleged Murder: Report – News18

Actor Darshan is being probed for his alleged connection to the Renukaswamy murder case. In a new development, after the actor’s footwear was recovered from his wife Vijayalakshmi’s flat, it is being said that he performed puja at the residence. As per police, the actor visited his wife’s residence after disposing of Renuka Swamy’s body on June 9.

A senior police officer said that Darshan got rid of the victim’s body in the early hours of June 9 and then headed to his wife’s residence in Hoskerehalli, as per a Times of India report. He then performed puja with his wife at the flat before travelling to Mysuru, from where he was arrested on June 11.

The report mentioned that as per police sources, Vijayalakshmi was summoned to the Annapoorneshwari Nagar on Wednesday and was questioned for nearly five hours. She was asked about how Darshan’s footwear (a pair of loafers) reached her residence and if anyone had used it in any capacity. The report mentioned that Vijayalakshmi gave her statement and is now likely to be treated as a witness in the case.

The report also mentioned that Darshan’s costume assistant, identified as Raju from Attiguppe, had given Darshan’s clothes and footwear to Vijayalakshmi after the incident.

Yesterday, shocking details of the case had emerged. As per CNN-News18, “The body was kept in the security room in the shed. So far, around 118 materials have been seized by the police, which includes vehicle, objects used to hit Renukaswamy. There’s an electric shock angle also that’s also come to light. Electric shock was used to torture Renukaswamy by one of the accused perpetrators. An electrical insulation device was used to administer electric shock to the victim. Gold jewellery and a watch were also stolen from the victim’s body after his death. The police have conducted spot investigation in almost 14 locations in Bengaluru where the murder took place at the shed, also at the residence of Pavitra Gowda.”

Previously, Karnataka police officials also claimed that Renukaswamy was beaten with sticks by Darshan and his aides, who then allegedly threw him against the wall, which led to his death. “It was Pavithra who instigated Darshan to punish Renukaswamy. Accordingly, the plan was hatched,” sources said.

For the unversed, Renukaswamy was found dead at Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru on June 8, 2024. He used to reportedly work at an Apollo Pharmacy branch in Chitradurga. Reportedly, Renuka used to send vulgar messages to Kannada actress Pavithra Gowad, a friend of Darshan. Angry about this, Renuka Swamy was murdered and his dead body was allegedly thrown in a canal at Kamaksshipalya, Bengaluru in front of Darshan.
