CM Yogi's chartered plane makes emergency landing in Agra due to technical glitch

LUCKNOW: UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s chartered plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Kheria Airport in Agra on Wednesday after developing a technical snag mid-air. The incident occurred shortly after takeoff at 3:40 pm, following the conclusion of the chief minister’s scheduled programmes in the city. About 20 minutes into the flight, the pilots detected a technical fault and immediately decided to return to Agra, ensuring a safe landing.
A replacement chartered plane from Delhi arrived at 5:42 pm, after which the chief minister resumed his journey to Lucknow. During this time, he waited for approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes at the Agra airport lounge before his departure. Senior police officials deployed in the security of the CM confirmed the same. Authorities have yet to disclose specific details regarding the nature of the technical issue, but aviation experts are likely to conduct a thorough inspection of the aircraft.
The unexpected development created a stir among the local police and administrative officials, who rushed to the airport upon receiving the information. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath remained at the airport lounge as officials assessed the situation. Security was heightened at the airport, and an alternative travel arrangement was being made for the Chief Minister.
Yogi Adityanath attended two major events in Agra on Wednesday. His visit began with a prayer at the Dariyanath Temple in Rajamandi, where he also addressed a religious gathering of saints. Later, the chief minister reached the GIC Ground, where he highlighted the achievements of his eight-year tenure. During his speech, he outlined the govt’s developmental initiatives and took a strong stance against the opposition. The event witnessed a large gathering of supporters and party workers, reflecting the enthusiasm surrounding his visit.
