‘Chhaava’ box office collection Day 27: Vicky Kaushal extends his record as film hits Rs 535.55 crore at ticket window

‘Chhaava,’ this historical drama headlined by Vicky Kaushal has kept Bollywood abuzz with its roar from the beginning. It opened with an impressive number, gave a recording breaking performance in the first week, maintained a pace in the second week as well, and despite a drop witnessed in week 3, it continues to shine at the box office. As we speak, the movie has completed its 27-day run at the box office and is on the verge of finishing its 4th week. According to the Sacnilk report, with an early estimated earnings of Rs.4.75 crores from the Hindi and Telugu version, the film’s total stands at Rs. 535.55 crore.
The Laxman Utekar’s directorial, which is based on a book with the same title, has seen its fair amount of lows in the fourth week. Fortunately, it did benefit from Women’s Day, and on its 4th Saturday, with a growth of more than 90 percent, it made Rs.16.75 crores; of which Rs. 13.5 crore came from Hindi and Rs. 3.25 crore from Telugu release. After that, the movie has been witnessing a slow growth; however, considering that the film is near to its one-month completion, the numbers are not disappointing. Moreover, with the Holi festivity and weekend just around the corner, the film is expected to excel.

‘Chhaava’ is a story of courage and warriors. It is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of the first Maratha ruler, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Raised amid adversities and with the legacy of Swaraj etched in his soul, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was a secular ruler who made sure to give the toughest fight to the Mughal emperor Auranzeb.
In addition to the gripping plotline, the movie has been praised for Vicky’s powerful performance. With ‘Chhaava’ Vicky has not only beaten his earlier records, but surpassed several box office giants like Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’, Prabhas’ ‘Baahubali 2’ and more.
