'Chhaava' Box Office Collection Day 20: Vicky Kaushal's historical drama to miss Rs 500 crore mark at end of week 3

Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama Chhaava continued its impressive run at the Indian box office, receiving widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike. On its 20th day, the film amassed approximately Rs 5.75 crore net across all languages, according to early estimates from Sacnilk.com.
Now in its third week, Chhaava has maintained a steady hold at the box office. The film initially opened with a strong collection of Rs 219.25 crore in its first week, followed by Rs 180.25 crore in its second. As it nears the end of its third week, its estimated earnings have reached Rs 78.15 crore, bringing the total collection to an impressive Rs 477.65 crore.
With the increasing trend of films opting for direct-to-digital releases, Chhaava has capitalised on its theatrical release and is on track to surpass the Rs 500 crore milestone. If it achieves this feat, it will mark Kaushal’s first film to enter the coveted 500-crore club, making it the highest-grossing film of his career.
The film has also garnered political recognition, with Maharashtra Minister Aditi Sunil Tatkare organising a special screening for MLAs and MLCs. “Chhaava was released recently, and we felt that all our MLAs and council members should definitely watch it. So, we organised a special screening during the session, with immense support from the cast, production, and distributors,” Tatkare told ANI.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava features Vicky in the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, alongside Akshaye Khanna as Emperor Aurangzeb. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Divya Dutta.
Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar also praised the film, calling it an “unprecedented” work that highlights history for the younger generation. “This film presents history in an engaging manner. My best wishes to all the artists and the production team,” he remarked.
