The government mentioned that it formed a High-Level Committee of experts after the current examination to propose effective measures for conducting fair exams
The Centre submitted an affidavit to the Supreme Court on Friday opposing the cancellation of NEET exams since the results have already been announced. They also stated that a panel has been established to provide recommendations for the fair conduct of the exams.
The government argued that “in the absence of proof of any large-scale breach of confidentiality in a pan-India examination, it would not be rational to scrap the entire examination and the results already declared.”
“Scrapping the exam in its entirety would seriously jeopardize the lakhs of honest candidates who attempted the question paper in 2024,” the affidavit mentioned.
The government mentioned that the Ministry of Education has formed a High-Level Committee of Experts after the current examination to propose effective measures for conducting transparent, smooth, and fair exams by the National Testing Agency.
What Will The Committee Do?
According to the government, the Committee will make recommendations on Reforms in the mechanism of the examination process, improvement in data security protocols and the structure and functioning of the National Testing Agency.
The said Committee is headed by Dr K Radhakrishnan, former Chairman,
ISRO and Chairman, BoG, IIT Kanpur and it will submit its report in two months.
