Cathay Pacific resumes Hong Kong-Riyadh flights on Oct. 28 after seven years, enhancing Saudi air links.

Cathay Pacific is gearing up to re-enter the Saudi Arabian market after a hiatus of more than seven years. The airline plans to resume its services connecting Hong Kong with Riyadh starting October 28. This route will feature three weekly flights utilizing the Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

The airline last operated this route until March 2017, according to OAG Schedules Analyser data. The resumption marks a significant return to a key destination in the Middle East.

“With direct flights between Hong Kong and Riyadh with Cathay Pacific, air connectivity to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will further strengthen from our key source markets to grow inbound tourism,” says Majid Khan, Saudi Air Connectivity Program CEO.

Cathay Pacific, officially known as Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, serves as the flag carrier of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The airline’s headquarters and main hub are located at Hong Kong International Airport, supporting its extensive global network.
