Captain America: Brave New World box office collection Day 5: Anthony Mackie starrer sees collections dip under Rs 1 crore on Tuesday

Captain America: Brave New World is holding its ground at the Indian box office despite stiff competition from the Bollywood historical drama Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal. However, the Anthony Mackie-led Marvel film is struggling to reach the Rs 15 crore mark.
The film opened with a promising start, earning an estimated Rs 4.2 crore on its first day. It maintained a steady pace over the weekend, collecting around Rs 4 crore on Saturday and Rs 4.15 crore on Sunday. However, Monday marked the first significant drop in earnings, with collections dipping to Rs 1.19 crore.

Tuesday saw an even bigger decline, as early estimates from Sacnilk.com suggest the film’s earnings fell below the Rs 1 crore mark. With this, the total collection for the film now stands at Rs 14.44 crore in India.

While Brave New World has not matched the box office success of Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, it has outperformed The Marvels (2023), which recorded a first-week collection of just Rs 12.15 crore. However, it falls short when compared to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), which amassed an impressive Rs 101.3 crore in its opening week, and even Eternals (2021), which collected Rs 26.1 crore in its first week.
The English screenings have been the primary drivers of revenue for the film, but the Hindi-dubbed version has maintained a respectable occupancy rate of 6.32%.
Directed by Julius Onah, Captain America: Brave New World marks Anthony Mackie’s first big-screen outing as Captain America following the events of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. The film also stars Harrison Ford, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, and Liv Tyler in key roles.
Looking ahead, Marvel Studios has two more major releases lined up for 2025. Thunderbolts is set to hit theatres on May 2, followed by The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which is scheduled for release in July.
