Captain America: Brave New World box office collection Day 4: Anthony Mackie starrer sees decline in collections on first Monday

Captain America: Brave New World experienced a significant drop in its box office earnings on its first Monday, following a strong opening weekend in India.
According to Sacnilk.com, the Anthony Mackie-starrer earned just Rs 1.19 crore on Day 4, marking a steep decline from its weekend performance. The film’s collections were primarily driven by its English-language screenings, which contributed approximately Rs 62 lakh on Monday, while the Hindi-dubbed version brought in Rs 48 lakh. Meanwhile, the Tamil-dubbed version performed poorly, earning only Rs 9 lakh. This brings the film’s estimated total collection in India to Rs 13.54 crore.
Directed by Julius Onah and produced by Marvel Studios, Captain America: Brave New World stars Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, and Liv Tyler in key roles. However, its box office performance appears to have been impacted by the strong showing of the Vicky Kaushal-led historical drama Chhaava.
Chhaava dominated the Indian box office over the weekend, earning a staggering Rs 100 crore. The film’s total collection now stands at Rs 140.5 crore within its first four days, overshadowing Brave New World’s performance.
Meanwhile, the re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam also recorded a fair business, with an estimated net collection of Rs 3.60 crore in its second weekend. The film’s total repeat-run earnings have now crossed Rs 30 crore, following a Rs 26.40 crore first-week haul.
With tough competition from domestic releases, Captain America: Brave New World faces an uphill battle to maintain its momentum at the Indian box office. Meanwhile, at the global box office, the film earned an estimated $192.4 million, easily the best start of the year. ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ reportedly had a budget exceeding $180 million and at least $100 million to market across the globe. It is one of three Marvel movies this year with Thunderbolts and The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ to release this year.
