Cabinet approves MSP for 14 Kharif crops | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for Kharif crops for marketing season 2024-25. The highest absolute increase in MSP over the previous year has been recommended for oilseeds and pulses.
On Cabinet decisions, Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, “The Cabinet has approved Minimum Support Price (MSP) on 14 Kharif season crops including paddy, ragi, bajra, jowar, maize and cotton.”
MSP of the most popular Kharif crop, paddy, is increased by Rs 117 per quintal — from Rs 2183 per quintal in 2023-24 to Rs 2300 in 2024-25.
Here are the details:

  • MSP on Niger seeds is increased by Rs 983 per quintal
  • MSP on Sesamum is increased by Rs 632 per quintal
  • MSP on tur/arhar is increased by Rs 550 per quintal
  • MSP on paddy is increased by Rs 117 per quintal
