Depositors of the Rose Valley chit fund scam in West Bengal can finally reclaim their money as the ED has transferred Rs 19.4 crore to the Assets Disposal Committee
Investigation into various chit fund scams in West Bengal has been going on for several years now. While many depositors of these chit fund schemes have not got their money back, those who have deposited their money in the Rose Valley ponzi scheme are set to finally get back their deposits.
According to sources, thousands of depositors of Rose Valley chit fund scheme have demanded their deposited money. This responsibility rests with the Asset Disposal Committee. The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) handed over Rs 19.4 million to the committee, which was the value of the seized property of Rose Valley. Officials of the rank of Special Director, Joint Director of ED also held a meeting with the officials of the committee at Kolkata’s Mango Lane.
Following this, the depositors were given a notice and asked to contact the website rosevalleyadc.com and follow the instructions to get their money back. They can claim through their money only through the website. Based on their claims, the depositors will be getting back their money.
According to a source from the central investigation agency, out of the money and property seized from Rose Valley, Rs 19.40 crore has been handed over to the Asset Disposal Committee. That money will be handed over to the depositors. The ED has paid the first installment to repay the depositors.
The High Court constituted an Assets Disposal Committee headed by retired Justice Dilip Kumar Shet, following a case in 2015. The refund process was supposed to start at the beginning of this year.
The Asset Disposal Committee has created a website to return the money to those duped by the chit fund company. Depositors can apply through this website to get their money back. It should be noted that the proceeds from the sale of properties of Rose Valley have been transferred to the ED. From this amount, the ED has transferred Rs 19.4 crore to the Asset Disposal Committee.
