The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted very heavy rain for Bengaluru and surrounding districts of coastal, north interior and south interior of Karnataka till October 18. Overcast conditions are likely to continue in the city over the next three to four days. The IMD has forecast isolated heavy rain over Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davangere and Tumakuru districts on Thursday. As per MeT Bengaluru, isolated heavy rain has been predicted over Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davangere, Tumkur districts while isolated heavy has been predicted to occur over Belagavi, Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag, Bagalkote districts.
India vs New Zealand Test 2024 schedule:
The first test will be played from 16-20 October at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The second Test will be played 24-28 October at Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. While the third and final Test will take place from 1-5 November at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
All three Test matches will begin from 9.30 am onwards IST.
IND vs NZ Test series
India is expected to maintain their strong performance at home as they face New Zealand in a three-match Test series. The team has been remarkably successful in home conditions, not losing a Test series since their 1-2 defeat to England during the 2012-13 season. Since that time, India has claimed victory in 18 consecutive Test series on home soil and has remained unbeaten in series for over 4,000 days. Currently, they lead the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 standings with eight wins, two losses, and one draw from 11 Tests. On the other hand, recently, New Zealand suffered a 2-0 series whitewash at the hands of Sri Lanka.
India squad for three-match Test series
On Friday, India had announced a 15-player squad for the three-Test series. During the last Tests against Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma led the team without a designated vice-captain. However, for this series, star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been officially named as Vice Captain.
