Marvel fans were left counting down the days to May 2026 after concept art, believed to be from ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ were allegedly leaked online.
The concept drawings revealed a first look of sorts at key characters and possible plot details. The leaked images, tease at a medieval-inspired setting for the upcoming with Doctor Doom ruling from his throne, likely within Battleworld.
While the authenticity of the concept art remains unverified, the images depict Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom seated on a throne in a post-multiverse collapse Battleworld. In the comics, Battleworld was created by Doom after seizing the power of the Beyonders, ruling as “God Emperor” for eight years before Reed Richards dismantled his reign. The artwork also appears to show Reed Richards in chains, as well as other MCU characters serving Doom’s rule, including Sheriff Strange and Yelena Belova as part of his court.
Additional images reveal Hulk and She-Hulk in a village in Latveria, while another concept showcases Star-Lord lounging with White Vision in a setting that does not follow the medieval theme. A separate piece illustrates Star-Lord in a bar scene with Wong and members of the Young Avengers—Kate Bishop, Cassie Lang, Speed, Wiccan, and Ms. Marvel—all in traditional attire, with the bar resembling something out of Game of Thrones.
One of the most controversial leaks features an alternate universe version of Wakanda with what appears to be T’Challa, sparking speculation about the legitimacy of the images. Given Marvel Studios’ stance on not recasting T’Challa following Chadwick Boseman’s passing, this particular concept has led some to question whether the leaks are AI-generated or fan-made.
Marvel Studios has not addressed the leaks.
Interestingly, these images have leaked online as shooting for the 5th and 6th Avengers film gets underway in the UK. The Russo Brothers, along with Chris Hemsworth were spotted recently in the UK, fuelling speculation that the shoot for the highly anticipated film has officially begun, well in time for the film’s 2026 release.
