Ashish Chanchlani steps out after a longtime amid India’s Got Latent controversy; says, ‘Halat kharab ho gayi hai’

Content creator Ashish Chanchlani was spotted in the city today after a long time amid the India’s Got Latent controversy. The YouTuber was seen heading to the gym when the paparazzi caught up with him outside the building. He greeted them warmly and even had a brief chat before heading inside.
When the paps asked Ashish about his whereabouts, he said, “Idhaar udhar ghum ke… poora India tour kar ke halat kharab ho gaayi hain (I am tired after traveling around the country).”
Meanwhile, Chanchlani has taken legal action regarding the case filed against him in Guwahati amid the India’s Got Latent controversy. In February 2025, he moved the Supreme Court, requesting the case be dismissed or transferred to Mumbai. While the main accused in the controversy is Ranveer Allahabadia, Chanchlani’s name has also been mentioned in the complaint.
During the hearings, the Guwahati High Court granted Ashish Chanchlani temporary bail while considering his plea for protection from arrest. The court also directed him to meet with the investigating officer within ten days. His lawyers argued that he did not make any controversial statements on the show and that the main allegations were directed at others.
The controversy erupted in January 2025 when Ranveer Allahabadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, made an inappropriate remark on Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent. His highly offensive question to a young contestant sparked widespread outrage, with many calling it vulgar and unacceptable.
Following the backlash, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B) and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) intervened, leading to the episode’s removal from YouTube. Legal complaints were subsequently filed against Ranveer Allahabadia, Samay Raina, and other panelists, including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija.
In a recent ruling, the Supreme Court granted Ranveer Allahabadia permission to continue his podcast, The Ranveer Show, despite the ongoing legal proceedings.
