Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal was granted bail on Thursday by the Rouse Avenue court in the money laundering case linked to the Delhi liquor policy scam. The Delhi chief minister is likely to walk out of jail by 8:00 pm today.
The court ordered a bail bond of Rs 1 Lakh to be furnished. The judge has asked the defence to file the bail bond before the duty judge on Friday. Vacation Judge Nyay Bindu of Rouse Avenue Courts passed the order after reserving it earlier on Thursday.
The release order will be sent to Tihar jail authorities through the court runner by 4 pm today, following which, the jail authorities will start the procedure of making the release memo which could take another few hours.
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) sought a stay on the order and asked the court to give 48 hours to sign the bail bond so that the order could be challenged in the higher court.
