Aruna Irani: Bangkok mein shopping karna bhari pad gaya - Exclusive

Veteran Bollywood actor Aruna Irani suffered a fall in Bangkok two weeks ago, leaving her seriously injured. A shocking photo and video of her arriving at Mumbai airport in a wheelchair, holding crutches in one hand, surfaced online. Journalist Vicky Lalwani shared a video of the actor sitting in a wheelchair, wearing a mask, and with a bandage on her hand. He reported, “Aruna Irani had a fall in Bangkok about two weeks ago. After treatment, she was confined to a wheelchair and crutches. Following a period of rest, she returned to India. She has been in a lot of pain but is now slowly recovering under expert medical care in Mumbai.”
When ETimes reached out to Aruna Irani for an update on her health, she responded with her signature humor, “Bangkok mein shopping karna bhari pad gaya.”
Aruna Irani had traveled to Bangkok with close friends for a shopping trip and to unwind in the city. However, just two days into her vacation, she tripped while walking on the road, distracted by the vibrant streets around her. “I was simply enjoying myself when the accident happened. ‘Itni masti karungi toh ye toh hona hi hai’. I received immediate medical attention in Bangkok, and after two weeks of recovery, I returned to Mumbai. Unfortunately, after coming back, I caught a viral infection, but I’m recovering from that as well.”Clarifying that her trip wasn’t work-related, the veteran actress joked, “I had only gone for shopping, but it turned out to be quite an expensive trip for me (laughs). Now, even if someone asks me to go shopping, I just say no!”
Reflecting on the experience, she added, “Life brings such moments, and this was my turn. I’m 80 now, but I know I’ll get through this.”
ETimes wishes Aruna Irani a speedy recovery!
