Arshad Warsi is an actor with a remarkable filmography, but he is known best for his impeccable comic timing and his ability to make people laugh both on and off-screen. So, when Bandaa Singh Chaudhary was offered to Warsi, he was delighted about the same as it allowed him to show his acting prowess in a different light. During the trailer release event of the film which is set in the aftermath of the 1971 Indo-Pak war, Arshad said that as an actor, he is always on the lookout for playing different roles, but he is not offered more diverse roles. “No one gives me such kind of roles. I don’t know why directors do that,” he said, adding humorously, “I am such a good actor.”
The film will see Arshad’s character involved in an intense fight against communal violence in Punjab. Further talking about playing an intense role, he said, “Main woh actor hu jo buffet table ke saamne khada hain jahaan ab sirf ek hi dish padi hai. (I am that actor who is standing in front of a buffet table that offers only one kind of food.)”
Besides Arshad Warsi, actress Meher Vij portrays a woman battling unimaginable loss who stands strong when the world falls apart around her. The trailer gives a glimpse of the tension between community and country, and how common people can possess extraordinary power when it comes to taking a stand for one’s motherland. Produced by Manish Mishra and Arbaaz Khan, the film will release on the big screen on October 25.
