Arjun Kapoor REACTS to people judging him based on his surname and looks: 'I don’t appreciate that kind of criticism...'

Arjun Kapoor, who is currently promoting his upcoming film, ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi‘, recently opened up about being crictised by netizens for his surname and looks.
In a chat with Bollywood Bubble, Arjun spoke about bieng back as a lover boy in his latest film. He sadid that he feels it’s the right time for his return as a lover boy. He mentioned that after films like Ki & Ka and 2 States, it had been a while since he did a romantic role. Working with Mudassar Aziz gave him the chance to revisit this genre, and he’s happy that audiences are appreciating it. After doing action-packed and negative roles, he’s glad people see him back in the romantic space he was known for.

Arjun further admitted that he is highly self-critical, even when receiving appreciation. He constantly evaluates his performance, even while filming a scene. While being realistic, he sometimes becomes overly critical, which isn’t always a good thing, as it can make him pessimistic at times.

He also shared that he trusts the filmmakers and his team, allowing them to handle things while he focuses on learning. Though being critical is part of his nature, he now tries to detach and avoid overthinking. He believes excessive analysis can take away the joy of acting, so maintaining balance is important.

Arjun also admitted that criticism affects everyone at some point. He values audience feedback since they pay to watch his work. However, he doesn’t appreciate personal attacks based on his looks, surname, or identity. While he isn’t sure if such negativity impacts him, he believes it is unhelpful and discouraging.
Arjun Kapoor further acknowledged that he became an actor because of the audience’s love and never forced anyone to watch his films. He is constantly trying to grow and is open to constructive feedback. While he accepts that films sometimes don’t work or performances may fall short, he dislikes personal attacks meant to provoke him.
