Alia Bhatt opens up about her heartwarming gift for Raha Kapoor and her aspirations to star in child-friendly films

A lot has changed for Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt since becoming a mom to her baby girl, Raha Kapoor, who she welcomed in 2022 with husband Ranbir Kapoor.
The actress, in a candid interview, opened up about her life since tying the knot and becoming a mother. Gushing about motherhood to Jay Shetty on his podcast, the actress shared an adorable gift that she has been curating for her daughter. While speaking about motherhood and cherishing moments with her 2-year-old, the actress revealed that she has been compiling a special digital memory book for the little one, documenting precious moments from their lives.

“I have been doing this thing where I send Raha emails,” she revealed. Elaborating futher, she said, “I do it every month. It is an amalgamation of photos, videos, what happened, and thoughts and feelings. It’s like a live memory book. I don’t have the energy to fill out a physical memory book. Maybe when she is 15, I’ll give it to her and say, ‘This is all the memories we collected for you over the years.'”

In addition to preserving memories for Raha, Alia also opened up about her desire to make movies that her daughter can watch when she grows up a little. The actress, who has won acclaim for her work on films like ‘Highway’, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and many others, admitted that she didn’t really make films that can be viewed by children.

While revealing the films she wants her daughter to see, she said, “I want her to watch Highway, Gangubai…” However, she then noted, “But I don’t have child-friendly films. That has made me want to take up a film that is loved by kids. I’m on the hunt. I know Brahmastra was loved by kids, or Rocky Aur Rani. Kids like songs. I remember growing up with songs; my memory is more of music. I’m glad I can sing to my daughter.”

Alia has her calendar full with various films from different genres gearing up for their releases. She has the spy action film ‘Alpha’ which will see her as the first female spy in the YRF universe. She will also star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic drama ‘Love and War’ which will see her starring opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
