The much-anticipated teaser trailer for ‘Jigra’ was unveiled today, sparking excitement among fans. Starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, the film highlights the powerful bond between siblings, portraying the lengths a sister will go to protect her younger brother. The teaser promises an intense, action-packed drama and has already started gaining momentum for its captivating storyline.
Alia Bhatt took to social media to share the teaser with her followers, and fellow actress Shraddha Kapoor also chimed in, sharing her excitement. Posting on her Instagram stories, Shraddha wrote, “Ye toh theater me bhai ke sath dekhna hai, Kya kamal ladki hai @aliabhatt, kya amazing trailer hai.” Alia playfully responded, “Hahaha thank you my blockbuster Stree.”
The ‘Jigra’ teaser offers a glimpse into the heart-wrenching journey of Alia’s character, a devoted sister determined to save her brother, portrayed by Vedang Raina, who finds himself imprisoned in a foreign land. The film’s gripping narrative promises a mix of emotional depth, action, and drama, centered around the theme of courage and sibling love.
Directed by Vasan Bala, ‘Jigra’ is co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions, with writing by Debashish Irengbam and Bala. The film is set to hit theaters on October 11, 2024.
Last year, Alia Bhatt talked about Jigra and opened up about its plot. She had revealed that the film is a story of ‘courage, passion and determination’. “Just a little over a year later, we are ready to launch our second production – Jigra, a beautiful story of courage, passion and determination. I hope to consistently support compelling narratives that are authentic, and enduringly timeless and work with brilliant creative minds to bring them alive,” Alia added.
It was also recently revealed that the actress had to learn basketball for the film. As reported by E-Times, Alia Bhatt has several scenes in Jigra in which she will be seen playing basketball and therefore, to make it look authentic, director Vasan Bala assigned a coach to her.
Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor continues to enjoy success with her horror-comedy ‘Stree 2’, directed by Amar Kaushik. The film, also starring Rajkummar Rao, has been a massive hit, crossing ₹516 crore at the Indian box office. The ensemble cast includes Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee in key roles.
