Ajay Devgn reacted to the trolls and memes around his viral ‘Zubaan Kesari’ ad.
Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn addressed the trolling and the memes that stemmed from his viral advertisement. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’d know that Ajay is the brand ambassador of an elaichi brand. The actor is often joined by Shah Rukh Khan. Previously, Akshay Kumar was also a part of the brand endorsement. Given his long association with the brand, Ajay is often the butt of jokes, memes and even trolled for his iconic tagline: ‘Bolo Zubaan Kesari.’
In a new interview now, Ajay was asked about the memes and if it bothers him. The Singham Again actor confessed it doesn’t affect him. “If you don’t mind me asking, in this meme culture, if someone is saying, ‘Zubaan Kesari,’ how do you does your brain process it?” Ranveer Allahbadia asked Ajay Devgn. The actor admitted, “It’s okay. It doesn’t matter.” Rohit Shetty chipped in to add, “I think it is done being offensive. Everyone enjoys memes now. It’s now about ‘Arre, did you see this meme?'”
Ajay has been long associated with the brand. Akshay had also become the brand ambassador but he decided to end his contract last year after he was trolled for being associated with a brand that also endorses tobacco. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh joined the brand sometime last year. The recent addition to the brand is Tiger Shroff.
On the work front, Ajay was last seen in Singham Again. The film is directed by Rohit Shetty and has earned over Rs 200 Cr at the box office in less than two weeks. While Ajay headlined the film, Singham Again also stars Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff and Shweta Tiwari. The film released on the occasion of Diwali this year.
