It has been a long time since Aishwarya Rai Bachchan acted in a Hindi movie. The actress was last seen in Fanney Khan, which was released in theatres in 2018. The actress had taken a sabbatical before returning to screens in Ponniyin Selvan (2022). But did you know, before PS, Ash had taken a break before making a comeback in 2015? It was after the birth of her and Abhishek Bachchan’s daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan welcomed Aaradhya Bachchan in 2011. The actress’ last movie before becoming a mother was Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish, which released in 2010. In 2015, she made a comeback with Sanjay Gupta’s thriller titled Jazbaa. In an interview back then, she was asked about her break and making a comeback.
In an interview with a media house, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was asked about her decision to stay away from the movies. The Devdas actress revealed that her priorities were quite clear. Her daughter Aaradhya was above everything else for her. “Now that she is going to school and has friends, I could think of doing a film again. And I did. But it wasn’t easy. And Aaradhya was with me throughout,” the actress stated.
When asked if there was any difference she felt after returning to the movie after 5 years. Aishwarya stated that she didn’t feel any difference. The actress stated how an artiste is always an artiste and actors never take break. She stated in her case, it was not a brake as she was doing something that consumed her completely. “I was so blissed-out in my duties of motherhood that I didn’t know how and when time flew by and there I was reading another script doing another film,” Ash stated.
