Air Marshal Tejinder Singh takes charge of IAF Training Command

BENGALURU: Air Marshal Tejinder Singh Thursday assumed charge as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the Indian Air Force’s Training Command headquartered in Bengaluru.
Air Marshal Singh, an accomplished fighter pilot with more than 4,500 hours of flying experience, was commissioned into the fighter stream of the IAF on June 13, 1987. Prior to his current appointment, Air Marshal Singh served as the Deputy Chief of the Air Staff at Air Headquarters.
“He is a Category ‘A’ Qualified Flying Instructor and an alumnus of prestigious institutions including the National Defence Academy, Defence Service Staff College, and National Defence College,” a ministry of defence (MoD) statement read.
Throughout his distinguished career spanning nearly four decades, Air Marshal Singh has held numerous command and staff positions. His command appointments include leadership of a fighter squadron, a radar station, a premier fighter base, and service as Air Officer Commanding of Jammu and Kashmir.
“His extensive staff experience includes operational roles at Command Headquarters, Air Commodore (Personnel Officers-1) at Air Headquarters, Deputy Assistant Chief of Integrated Defence Staff, Financial (Planning) at HQ IDS, and Air Commodore (Aerospace Safety). He has also served as Assistant Chief of Air Staff Operations (Offensive), ACAS Ops (Strategy), and Senior Air Staff Officer at Eastern Air Command in Shillong, Meghalaya,” MoD said.
Following the assumption ceremony, Air Marshal Singh paid homage to fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the Training Command War Memorial.
“For his exemplary service, the President of India has honored Air Marshal Singh with the Vayu Sena Medal in 2007 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2022,” MoD added.
