Air India Ahmedabad plane crash news: Indian Railways will be running special trains to transport passengers stranded in Ahmedabad after an Air India plane crashed near the Ahmedabad airport. All fight operations at the Ahmedabad airport have been temporarily suspended.Indian Railways will run air-conditioned special trains to move people who are stranded in Ahmedabad due to airport closure. Sources told TOI that two trains will be run at 12:000 AM tonight. The AC trains will have AC-3 tier coaches and will be run from Ahmedabad to Delhi and Ahmedabad to Mumbai.Flight services at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) have been halted after an Air India aircraft incident, as per the airport’s official communication issued on Thursday.The airport management has stated that aircraft movements, both incoming and outgoing, are suspended “until further notice.”“Flight AI 171 from Ahmedabad to London, Gatwick, earlier today, was involved in a crash shortly after take-off, outside the airport. As a result, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, is currently not operational. All flight operations are temporarily suspended until further notice,” said the official statement from the SVPIA spokesperson.“Passengers are advised to check with their respective airlines for the latest updates before proceeding to the airport. We request your cooperation and patience as authorities manage this evolving situation,” stated the announcement.According to Air Traffic Control, the aircraft took off from Ahmedabad at 1339 IST (0809 UTC) using runway 23. Despite issuing a mayday distress signal to ATC, the aircraft ceased responding to subsequent communications. The aircraft crashed outside the airport boundary shortly after departing from Runway 23. Officials reported observing dense black smoke rising from the incident location.
