Air India plane crash: Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani on Thursday said that the group is working closely with authorities after an Air India plane crashed near the Ahmedabad airport. A London-bound Air India plane crashed shortly after take off. Ahmedabad airport operations come under the Adani Group. “We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragedy of Air India Flight 171. Our hearts go out to the families who have suffered an unimaginable loss. We are working closely with all authorities and extending full support to the families on the ground,” Gautam Adani posted on X.Flight operations at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport have been temporarily halted due to an Air India aircraft incident post-departure. “As a result of Air India plane crash incident, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA), Ahmedabad, is currently not operational. Directorate of Airworthiness (DAW), Assistant Directors of Airworthiness (ADAW) and one Flight Operations Inspector (FOI) already in Ahmedabad for some other task. They are getting details”, said DGCA.The DGCA confirmed that the Air India flight bound for London crashed in Ahmedabad’s Meghani Nagar locality after departing at 1:38 pm on Thursday. The Boeing aircraft had 242 occupants, including 12 crew members.
