When Rekha refuted rumours of her secret marriage with Vinod Mehra, said, 'to his mother I'm a badnaam actress with reputation of a 's*x maniac'

Rekha is considered an icon – be it her sense of fashion or just her on-screen appearances. While being one of the best actresses of the country, Rekha’s personal life has seen immense turmoil. The actress was linked to many men but somehow could not have a smooth marriage or love life. She continues to be loved though, for always being ahead of her time and is an inspiration for many young girls. Here’s recalling the time when Rekha was linked to Vinod Mehra. There were rumours that they were secretly married.
According to Rekha’s biography, The Untold Story, written by Yasser Usman, the actress had met Vinod Mehra after her alleged breakup with Jeetendra. Reports suggested that Rekha was married to Vinod Mehra but somehow, the actor’s mother never liked her. They tried very hard to convince her but it did not work out. This led to frequent arguments between them and some also suggested that Rekha had taken cockroach poison.
Rekha had once said in an interview, “To her (Vinod’s mother) I am not just an actress, but I am a badnaam actress with a rotten past and a reputation for being a sex-maniac. For Vinod’s sake, she tolerated me in the beginning. Now she won’t tolerate me at all.”
