Bhagyashree opens up on gender equality at home; says she didn’t believe in leaving her kids Abhimanyu and Avantika with nannies: 'I was far too young to manage both worlds'

Bollywood actress Bhagyashree believes that resting on past success is never an option, and she has now shared insights on balancing professional life with motherhood while instilling gender equality in her children.
In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Bhagyashree reflected on the challenges of juggling work and family. She acknowledged the struggles mothers face when trying to pursue their dreams while fulfilling responsibilities at home. Sharing her experience of taking her daughter, Avantika Dasani, to film sets, Bhagyashree said, “To strike the balance somewhere, there is no right or wrong. It is a fight that you have to win every day. So you have to put on your armour, go out there, and do your work. I didn’t believe in leaving my children with nannies. Though I had my in-laws, I didn’t think it was right to expect them to look after a toddler. And I would hate it if I were to come back home and someone told me, ‘We are looking after your kids.’”

She revealed that while it was tough, she cherished the beauty of the experience. “I didn’t want to leave behind being a mother to her. I think I was more capable at that age than I was when Abhimanyu (Dasani) was born. I was far too young to manage both worlds,” she added.
The Maine Pyar Kiya actress strongly believes in fostering gender equality from an early age. She challenges traditional notions, stating that both sons and daughters should be equally capable of managing household tasks, including cooking. By raising children as well-rounded individuals, she believes they develop a deeper sense of equality in their interactions with others.
