Mika Singh accuses Bipasha Basu of costing him Rs 10 crore overhead expense, says she's sitting at home with no work due to karma: 'The drama created by her made me regret'

Mika Singh had once thought of getting into production but in a recent interview, the singer has accused Bipasha Basu of completely making him regret his decision of being a producer. He recalled the time when he signed on Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha for a project but has accused the actress of throwing tantrums which cost him Rs 10 crore more than his budget. This film was called ‘Dangerous’.
Mika also spoke about the fact that actors should respect producers and their resources. He said during a chat with Pinkvilla, “Why do you think they are out of work now? God is watching everything?” He added, “See, I liked Karan a lot, and I wanted to back a film that would push my music in the forefront. I just wanted to make a low-budget film, around Rs 4 crore.”
He added that he got Vikram Bhatt to just write the script as he couldn’t affort him as a director. “We roped in director Bhushan Patel, who had previously helmed Alone, which featured Bipasha in a double role. The shoot was set in London, and the budget increased from Rs 4 crore to Rs 14 crore. And the drama created by Bipasha ensured that I would always regret getting into production.”
Further explaining what happened on the set, Mika said, “It was a team she was comfortable with, and they were playing a couple, who had to feature in kissing scenes. Suddenly, she was throwing tantrums saying she won’t do this or she won’t do that, etc.” He explained, “Someone always had a sore throat. If it was Bipasha who was sick at one time, it was Karan at another.”
Thus, he explained that actors should co-operate with producers or else they will be out of work. “When some out-of-work heroines are thinking their luck is bad, it is important to note that they should respect producers who come with opportunities. They are your god. They might be happy playing miniscule roles in a Dharma Productions film, but won’t respect small-time producers, who are paying the same amount of money,” he opined.
