After the success of ‘Tumbbad,as it re-released recently, Sohum Shah is back with another film. The film is produced by Sohum and also stars him. It is directed by Girish Kohli. While the buzz of the film has not been that great, the film had a dull opening on Friday. More so, because at the moment ‘Chhaava‘ is dominating at the box office and how. However, ‘Crazxy’ is getting some positive word of mouth through the reviews on social media and may be expected to pick up on Saturday and Sunday.
According to Sacnilk, the film made Rs 90 lakhs on Friday and as per the early shows on Saturday morning, it had made Rs 4 lakhs. Thus, the total collection of the movie so far is Rs 94 lakhs so far. The film is obviously niche and not meant for the mass audience. It also doesn’t look like it’s made on a heavy budget. Thus, this number is dull but expected. Meanwhile, ‘Chhaava’ is getting all the footfalls at the box office at the moment.
It made Rs 13 crore on second Friday and thus crossed Rs 400 crore at the box office. It’s quite obvious that these days, movies which appeal to the masses and work at single screens as well, bring in more numbers than those which are niche and targetted to a certain multiplex audience.
However, ‘Crazxy’ has got rave reviews. A user wrote on X, “Just watched #Crazxy and it’s an extremely well made film. Sohum Shah carries the entire film on his own shoulders excelling in every scene. Has a complete edge of the seat experience with a powerful climax. Such films need to be supported. #CrazxyReview”
Largely, most reviews are positive and the film may pick up over the weekend through word of mouth.
