Preity Zinta responds to fan's query on filing a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi over loan waiver claims: 'I believe in handling problems directly'
Preity Zinta denied Kerala Congress claims that she handed over her social media to the BJP for a loan waiver. She stated she manages her own accounts and repaid the loan years ago. Zinta maintains a neutral stance on legal action against Rahul Gandhi and is set to star in ‘Lahore 1947’.

Preity Zinta faced a political controversy when the Congress party claimed the BJP helped her with an Rs 18 crore loan waiver. The Kerala Congress also suggested her social media is managed by the BJP. After denying these claims, a fan asked if she would sue Rahul Gandhi for defamation.
Replying to the query, Preity maintained a neutral stance, stating, “I don’t think it’s fair to vilify anyone like that, as he is not responsible for someone else’s actions. I believe in handling problems or issues directly & not through proxy battles. I also have no problem with Rahul Gandhi, so let him live in peace & I will live in peace too

“.
The Kerala Congress accused Preity Zinta of giving her social media to the BJP for a loan waiver. They said the bank collapsed, hurting depositors. The actress denied this, saying she manages her own accounts and repaid the loan years ago.
In response, Zinta called out the party for spreading misinformation and wrote, “No, I operate my social media accounts myself, and shame on you for promoting FAKE NEWS! No one wrote off anything or any loan for me. I’m shocked that a political party or their representative is promoting fake news & indulging in vile gossip & click baits using my name & images.”
She further added, “For the record, a loan was taken and FULLY PAID BACK – over 10 years ago. Hope this clarifies and helps so there are no misunderstandings in the future.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Preity Zinta is set to return to the screen with ‘Lahore 1947’, a historical drama directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and backed by Aamir Khan Productions. The film also features Sunny Deol and his son Karan Deol.
