'Unprecedented and unforgettable': CM Yogi hails Maha Kumbh 2025 on concluding day

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, akharas and spiritual leaders as the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj concluded on Wednesday with the final holy dip on Mahashivratri.
In a social media post on X, Yogi claimed that over 662.1 million devotees have taken the holy dip in the sacred Triveni during the 45-day gathering which is unprecedented and unforgettable in world history.
“Under the guidance of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the grand celebration of humanity, faith, unity, and equality, the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, is progressing towards its conclusion with the sacred bath on the auspicious day of Mahashivaratri,” Yogi said.
“From January 13, the day of Paush Purnima, to today, February 26, the day of Mahashivaratri, over 662.1 million devotees have taken the holy dip in the sacred Triveni during the 45-day Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. This is unprecedented and unforgettable in world history,” he added.
UP CM also thanked Kumbh Mela administration, local administration, police, sanitation workers and volunteers for the success of the event.
“It is the result of the holy blessings of revered akharas, saints, spiritual leaders, and religious teachers that this grand congregation of harmony is sending a message of unity to the entire world in a divine and magnificent manner,” Yogi said.
“Heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all the dignitaries, pilgrims from home and abroad, and those who participated in Kalpavas for being the architects of this success. Acknowledgments to the Maha Kumbh Mela administration, local administration, police, sanitation workers, Ganga volunteers, non-profit organizations, religious institutions, boatmen, and all departments of the central and state governments involved, as well as all individuals and organizations who contributed directly or indirectly to the well-organized event. Special thanks to the residents of Prayagraj, whose patience and hospitality captivated everyone,” he added.
Devotees from across the country arrived in large numbers at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj in the early hours of Wednesday on the last ‘Snan’ of the Maha Kumbh, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri.
The first Amrit Snan of Paush Purnima began on January 13, followed by Snan on Makar Sankranti on January 14, Mauni Amavasya on January 29, Basant Panchami on February 3, Maghi Purnima on February 12, and the last snan on February 26, Maha Shivaratri.
