Farhan Akhtar confirms 'Don 3' shoot with Ranveer Singh to begin this year

After much anticipation, Farhan Akhtar has finally shared a major update on ‘Don 3‘, confirming that the film will officially go on floors later this year. In a recent interview, the filmmaker assured fans that production is set to commence in 2025, putting an end to speculation surrounding the film’s schedule.
Farhan, who is currently occupied with his military-action drama ‘120 Bahadur‘, addressed the much-awaited sequel in an interview with India Today. “I am not dodging any questions. ‘Don 3’ is starting this year, and ‘120 Bahadur’ will be released at the end of the year,” he said.
The announcement of Ranveer Singh stepping into the shoes of Shah Rukh Khan for the next instalment of the iconic franchise was made in 2023, creating a wave of excitement among fans. This marks a new chapter in the ‘Don’ series, which was originally helmed by Amitabh Bachchan in 1978, followed by Shah Rukh Khan in the 2006 and 2011 versions.
Adding to the excitement, Kiara Advani has been roped in as the female lead, marking her first collaboration with Ranveer Singh. While the details of her character remain under wraps, fans are eager to see their on-screen chemistry in the high-octane action drama.
Before diving into ‘Don 3’, Farhan Akhtar is focused on wrapping up his upcoming war biopic, ‘120 Bahadur’. The film is based on Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, a Param Vir Chakra awardee who played a pivotal role in the Battle of Rezang La during the Indo-China war of 1962.
‘120 Bahadur’ narrates the story of the brave soldiers of Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment, who defended their post against overwhelming odds on November 18, 1962. The film is expected to release by the end of 2025.
