Pradeep Ranganathan’s latest film ‘Dragon’ continues its impressive box office run, crossing the Rs 35 crore mark within four days of release. After a stellar opening weekend, the Ashwath Marimuthu directorial has maintained a steady hold at the box office, registering decent Monday collections.

According to early estimates from the Sacnilk website, ‘Dragon’ collected Rs 5.50 crore India net on its fourth day across all languages. This takes the film’s total collection to Rs 35.55 crore India net. The Tamil version remains the dominant contributor, with the Telugu-dubbed version also gaining traction.

Breaking down the collections, ‘Dragon’ opened to Rs 6.5 crore on Friday, followed by a strong surge over the weekend, earning Rs 10.8 crore on Saturday and Rs 12.75 crore on Sunday. Despite the usual Monday drop, the film managed to sustain well with decent occupancies in key regions.
On Monday, Dragon recorded an overall Tamil occupancy of 37.60%, with Chennai leading the charts at 52.75%. Coimbatore also performed well with 44% occupancy. The Telugu version saw an overall 21.88% occupancy, with night shows showing an upward trend at 28.97%.
Directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, Dragon features Pradeep Ranganathan, Kayadu Lohar, Anupama Parameswaran, Mysskin, and Gautham Vasudev Menon in pivotal roles. The film has been receiving positive responses for its engaging narrative and Pradeep Ranganathan’s performance.
Etimes rated the film with a solid 4 star out of 5 and our review reads, “Just like in OMK, Raghavan finds an amazing friend and lover in Keerthi (Anupama Parameswaran), who goes out of her way to keep him happy. But Dragon highlights that sometimes a missed chance is a missed chance. From the rainy nights hinting at a change to second chances and college friendships, both frames and characters remind you of the director’s debut outing, which works organically for his sophomore venture. Even the famous “Idhu ungallukku sonna puriyaadhu sir” dialogue makes a cameo. Apart from these, you also get hat tips to Premam, Simbu, and other films and actors, adding flavour to the comedy sequences. From roping in VJ Siddhu and Harshath Khan to all the interesting meta references, Ashwath has managed to cater to the youth in all possible ways.”
With its strong run in Tamil Nadu and growing traction in Telugu markets, ‘Dragon’ is expected to hold well in the coming days.
