Orhan Awatramani aka Orry reveals what really happens at high-profile parties: 'Spending your whole day trying to impress others is emotionally exhausting'

Social media sensation Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has often shared his views on fame and the pressures that come with it. At a recent ABP News event, he offered a rare glimpse into what really happens at glamorous parties, shedding light on the struggles of maintaining social relationships under immense pressure.
Orry shared that AI is the last topic people want to discuss at parties, as it falsely puts words in their mouths. He revealed the bizarre impact of AI-generated content, saying, “I wake up to videos of me saying things I never said, kissing people I’ve never kissed, and doing things I’ve never done. These AI generator apps are making us do all these things without our consent.”
Orry also pointed out how social media has reshaped party culture. “The music is usually too loud to have a real conversation. What’s happened with parties is that we go there, click pictures, and suddenly it turns into, ‘Orry only takes pictures with the most famous, relevant people.’ Now, people try to get into the picture,” he said.

Orry shared that taking pictures at parties has turned into an obligation, as people now expect it. He observed that if he missed taking a picture with someone, their disappointment was evident, which he always tried to avoid.
Despite the glitz and high-energy socializing, Orry acknowledged the emotional exhaustion that many attendees experience. “Most of these people actually have very tough lives. Yeah, you are the tough duffer. Your life is spent the whole day impressing other people, and that’s exhausting,” he remarked.

Recalling a recent gathering, he shared a moment of honesty with a friend. “Last week, I went to my friend’s party. She’s a society girl, always spending her whole day impressing her mother-in-law, her husband, her colleagues, and everyone else. It’s exhausting. By the end of the day, she was just having a drink with me, and that’s honestly what we were doing—deflating together. But even as we deflated, we still looked beautiful. We looked amazing while deflating.”
